RBS and its associates provide a complete range of consultancy services anywhere in the world, often acting as lead consultants in areas such as planning, architecture, interior design, cost planning, structural engineering, project management and MEP services. Where appropriate, RBS works with its associate practices and sub-consultants.

RBS Architects is the trading name of Rothermel Been Studio Ltd., a company registered in the Turks & Caicos Islands, wholly owned by Wendy Been, with Rolf Rothermel as a consultant.
OUR TEAM

PRINCIPAL
WENDY BEEN
Been graduated at Miami Lakes Technical Institute and joined Rothermel Cooke (the forerunner to RBS architects) in 1998. After a few years she took over the management and the practice name was changed to RBS Architects. Since 2014, Been is the registered owner of the practice.
In 2005 Been was appointed as deputy chair to the Turks and Caicos Islands Planning Board, and subsequently has held various other Government Board positions.Her Government appointments include Deputy Chair of the Planning Board.

In 2018, Been was the awarded the honor of 'TCI Woman of the Year' by the Premier of the Turks and Caicos for being the first female architect in the TCI.

CONSULTANT
ROLF ROTHERMEL
Rothermel, Senior Consultant to RBS, qualified at the Architectural Association School of Architecture. Following that he became a Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He then took his finals in town planning and was elected a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (now lapsed). He founded Rothermel Cooke in 1967, working for central and local governments, mainly on housing, as well as private client projects in hospitality, housing and commercial projects.

In 1988 he was appointed as architect and planner for the leisure and hotel development on Parrot Cay, Turks & Caicos- and again in 1998 for its refurbishment and extensions. With over 30 years’ experience in the Turks and Caicos Islands, Rolf handed over his practice to Wendy Been and continues to act as consultant to RBS architects in the Turks & Caicos Islands.

Awards include first prize in UNESCO/UIA open, anonymous, international competition, Abu Dhabi Hotel & Conference Centre; first place in limited competition for Heliopolis Palace Hotel & Convention Centre; European Heritage Award as Part of the City of Norwich submission; special award by Architectural Digest for Housing scheme in Brixham Harbour.

CONSULTANT
robert smith
Smith, former Chief Building Inspector in Providenciales,acts as a consultant to RBS. His specialist experience assists in planning & building permit applications, as well as on the general work of the practice when needed. His qualifications include certification in Structural Masonry, Concrete, Building Technology and Mapping Techniques

DESIGN & IT CONSULTANT
FELIX ROTHERMEL
Rothermel graduated from London South Bank University in 2013 and has over 15 years of professional experience in the world of architecture. He has managed projects from start to finish in 3 different countries and is fluent in three languages.
